This image gets a special Tumblr only description because it is a journey. My theirfriend was describing a comic @olympusoverdrive to me, including a description of the character Hades, whose version of Cerberus was conveyed to me as a dog having three computer monitors for heads. Only having heard of this third hand, my concept of what this might look like came to mind immediately as a sort of monstrous, biomechanoid canine with three large CRT screens for heads, a bit of a mashup of FLCL’s Canti and HR GIger’s Alien.

Apparently dubbed Cyberus by everyone who saw the sketches, this is the outcome of fanart for something I’ve never actually seen or read, based on an idea I completely misunderstood.

Full view, of course, and remember reblogs matter most of all because there’s the chance getting a paid commission work.

You probably need to full view this. I don’t know how to process many of my emotions or thoughts or feelings verbally. But I know how to draw them, and I know vultures matter to them.

This is a commission from @marblesarelost of the muse Calliope, eloquence and poetry. I had a mind of someone who voice and words are carried through the people she inspires. In a way, she is anonymous, hidden. Everyone knows her stories and her words but no one knows quite where they come from or their design.

At the same time, I thought of Ophelia, not late of Shakespeare but the machine made from dreams of the same name, in Envy by Yuri Olesha. Not quite seen but always there, impossible to tangle up in the world of industry and mechanization. She’s a special machine that I carry with me always.

I am still open for commissions and I hope you enjoy the work.

  6. Please full view and reblog if you’d like to support my work.

A version of Wayland the Smith commissioned by @marblesarelost 9x12 bristol pen and ink.

I think as soon as I read that he crafted a winged cloak an image came almost instantly to mind, a kind of Daedalus in a radically different style, something reflecting the sort of iron and metal wings a smith might make, in his fire element. It’s nice when an image comes on so strongly, that it was only a matter of finding the lines and tweaking the little details into place.

  7. Will I ever get a new scanner or will I use my phone and photoshop cleanup forever?

I like how this picture makes me feel - like all my inside is coming out of my outside. A lot of parts cobbled together, still works, still drawing. No takers on commissions as yet. Please full view because the regular size is compressed.

If you like it, please reblog it. That’s how artists get to be alive artists.

I was recently reminded of this completely fucking epic picture I drew about five years ago.

full view please, ok to reblog

A picture of the lady, for @normal-horoscopes

She has dark skin, covered in scars, with large triangular teeth like a shark. Her robes are faded amber and cover most of her skin, including her eyes.

Somewhere my brain added “tattered” to the robes. I felt like she would not necessarily have a reassuring countenance. I did not find much about her hair, but it seemed appropriate to make it like smoke.

Once I have a permanent residence again and can do proper scans, I’ll be back to updating my art blog, but meanwhile feel free to browse it @elmprophet
